100% Loveable

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me here today...
Today I'd like to share my latest for D-lish Scraps with you "100% Loveable"  

 These are a few photo's of my gorgeous furbaby Cleopatra.... she loves to lie out in the garden and take in the world around her on a sunny day....I created this layout using loads of the D-lish Scraps fabulous products...

I started with a plain cardstock and used the Scrap FX Field of Flowers stamp and clear embossing powder to create a resist under the black and white gesso background...

For my title I used the Scrap FX title 100% Loveable... 

  I used the pvc doilies along with the wonderful coloured paper doilies, and applied some distress ink to the edges to give them some depth.... I stamped the centre of the doily for added detail...I love these doilies, no more spraying plain doilies and having them curl  and scrunch up as they dry, plus the added bonus no drying time... so awesome!!! 

And no layout would be complete without one of D-lish Scraps fabulous flair buttons, here I used one from the Duly Noted set...

I created an embellishment cluster using the metal filigree; filigree leave along with a tutu bloom, a large rose from the mixed size roses brown pack, a black rose from the mini rose pack and some mini metal flowers...

For this side cluster I again used part of a coloured paper doily with a black rose from the mini rose pack, a mini metal flower and a metal filigree, filigree flower centre along with a brown forget-me-not.... I also cut a petal from a filigree six petal flower...

Forty

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me here today...

Today I'd like to share with you another layout I created with some of the latest releases from Scrap FX  "Forty"

 A layout celebrating the birthday of my gorgeous friend Belinda... she had a beautiful Black and White birthday celebration...I struggled creating this layout, as Belinda wore Pink (the only colour in a sea of black and white)... but Pink is so not a colour I am comfortable creating with...lol... so it was a challenge...

For my background I again used the Number Party Stencil, this time highlighting the number four and a circle to create a '40' .... I really do love how versatile this stencil is.... 

 This months new releases included a heaps of mini titles....  here is the super cute Birthday Girl, mini title....

 I used the Crazy Circles to add extra texture behind the cake photo.... What a fantastic cake it was too and so delicious... created for Belinda by my very clever sister in law... her buisness: "Tilly and Pud specialty cakes for all occassions"
I also used a 2014 from the new 2014 year pack... these packs are great 8 different 2014's in one little pack...

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me here today...
Today is my turn over on the Scrap FX blog and I'd like to share with you a layout I created with some of the new releases "Cherish"

I just adore this picture of my gorgeous niece Hannah....

Hannah is five so I used the new Number Party Stencil and made the number five prominent and smudged out the other numbers....  I love how versatile this stencil is simply by using portions of it as opposed to the whole of the stencil...

 for my tittle I used the new smaller Cherish,mini wordlet.... I love these smaller titles...
On the tag I also used the gorgeous new Flourish Swirl Stamp, my stamping is very subtle under the strong title, but this stamp is beautiful...

I also included my old favourite Chicken Wire for some added background texture....

Black with Two November Challenge

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me here today...

Today I'm sharing the current challenge that is up over at  Black with Two . 

Black with Two is a challenge blog, which as it's name states is a challenge to use black cardstock as your base and only add the two colours nominated for the month, along with a sketch. This month is Tangerine and Blue, ... and here is the board with colours and sketch....

Here's my take on this months challenge a layout of hubby and I when we visited the Grand Canyon to do the skywalk... I have only just discovered the Shimmerz range of products and had loads of fun creating this layout with them.... The Shimmerz will go onto ant surface and were fabtastic for colouring the resin flourishes... The Texturez gave me amazing gritty texture on my background, so awesome... and no layout of mine would be complete without some Scrap FX to finish it off....

and a close up of all that Shimmerz goodness...

Creative Post Blog Hop

Hi Everyone, thanks for joining me here today;

I have been tagged by the extremely creative, Michelle Logan the Scrap FX Design Team Coordinator to participate in this Creative Process Blog Hop. So what is this I hear you say? Well it has been going for a while now (as I found out when I tried to tag a few other arty folk for this post) and it entails answering a few simple questions to get to know me a little better, then I will tag some other crafty peeps to keep it going the following week.

So here goes: 

What am I working on now? 

Currently I am working on a large Halloween project and some wall art for my teaching space... I am working on an actual full size coffin lid (given to me by a friend who is in the funeral industry) hopefully I get it finished in time.... as for the wall art there is no time frame.... so as the opportunity arises I just keep working on it... 

How does my work differ from others in my Genre? 

This is a tough question to answer... I don't compare my work to others. I love using all sorts of techniques and mediums... and I find myself inspired by everything around me... there is so many wonderful artists out there and amazing artwork everywhere! 

Why do I create what I do?

Good question... I have always been creative for as long as I can remember right back to my earlier childhood years... My mother always told me I got my creativity from my great grandma, apparently she was a very creative lady... 

I have always had the urge to paint, create or make something for as long as I can remember and I am happiest when my hands are covered in ink and paint... I create because I have that inherent need to do so, it's almost instinctual... As for why I create what I do.... I follow my heart/desires when creating and go where ever my mood takes me... I have a real passion for altered art currently...

How does my creative process work?

Hmmm.... I've never really stopped to think about this... I guess I start by deciding what I am going to create, scrapbook layout, altered art, canvas, etc... Once the decision is made, colour and what mediums I plan to use are next... with all those things laid out before me, I let the process take care of itself from there and follow where ever that leads... On the rare occasions that I may suffer form a creative block, I will just grab a journal and start to paint or doodle.... just create a mess and that is normally enough to the ideas sparking... 

Well, that is me done, now it is time for me to tag some other creative peeps to answer the same questions... I have chosen a couple of creative peeps that I currently work with on Design Teams and I hope you will enjoy a visit to their Blogs too.

The first is Lynn who can be found here, she does some beautiful work and is on the D-lish Scraps and the Black with two design teams with me. 

The second arty friend I will tag, is Kerry, her creative home is here. Also a D-lish Scraps Design Team member and whips up some great scrapbook pages.

Light it Up

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me here today...

and welcome to my third post for D-lish Scraps ....

Today I'd like to share with you a lamp that I altered....

This was a square table lamp that I was given by a friend.... it was a little boring and screaming for an up grade.... here's some images of how I created the finished lamp...

 I began by wiping some Inka Gold over the wooden grid...

I cut the diagonal striped bags to fit into each of the cavities and then I used a stencil and some modelling paste to create a little texture on each of the panels...

Next I added some Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays to each of the panels...

and I added some rub n' buff to highlight the texture...

 Then I went about adding all the finishing touches to the lamp...

 I created clusters in opposing corners of the lamp, using the Heirloom Flowers in light peach and Mini Heirloom Flowers (light peach) and I sprayed these flowers with the same sprays as I used on the panels.... In the clusters on the front I also added some Metal Filigree Leaves along with a Flair Button from the Ombre words pack....

A couple more shots of some of the clusters on the lamp....
 

 I am so happy with how this lamp turned out it looks great while it's off, but when you turn on the lamp ... oh Wow!! it looks absolutely stunning....

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me here today...

and welcome to my second post for D-lish Scraps ....
Today I'd like to share with you some decorative pins I created....

 D-lish Scraps has so many fun goodies to play with that I set about creating something a little different, these pins were made with only D-lish Scraps products and some Silks to colour them with...

 For this pin I used the Filigree five petal flower along with a Filigree flower centre both can be found under the Metal Filigrees section of the store.... I also used a  mini metal flower, this one was silver before I painted it with Silks acrylic glaze, but they come in loads of great colours...  To finish this flower pin off I used some coloured tulle (aqua) and of course the pin itself I used a Berry pin (I bent the Berry pin with pliers at a 90 degree angle before inserting it into the mini metal flower)...

For my butterfly pin.... I used the butterfly filigree  with a heart pin and a rhinestone heart .... this is a very simple and quick pin to make.... again I painted it up with Silks acrylic glaze...

For my final pin again I started with a heart pin  and glued that onto a Filigree Five Petal Flower and then onto a Filigree Doiley both of which you will find in the Metal Filigrees section of the store.... I finished off with a mini metal flower and some coloured tulle  in the aqua.... Once again I coloured the metal pieces with Silks...

Pins like these are really easy to make and look great on layouts and cards alike...

D-lish Scraps

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me here today...

Today I'd like to share my first post for D-lish Scraps with you "Discover"
I am so excited and happy to be a part of this fantastic team...

 I created this layout using lots of the D-lish Scraps fabulous products...
I started with a black script page and used the Scrap FX map stencil to create background texture and then sprayed it up with loads of Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays...

I used the fabulous striped bags from D-lish to back my photo... I am quickly finding these are a go to product for me when creating...

 I used the wonderful coloured paper doilies, and applied some distress ink to the edges to give them some depth.... I love these doilies, no more spraying plain doilies and having them curl  and scrunch up as they dry, plus the added bonus no drying time... so awesome!!! 

I created a little embellishment cluster using the a flair button from the Life in Bokeh flair set and a metal filigree; filigree doily along with a journal it's from the Jumbo word tickets set, which I cut it out and inked up with distress ink...

I used one of the great arrow clips from the Freckled Fawn paper clips.... these are fantastic.... I hadn't used them before, but they have quickly become another favourite for me.... 

Finally for my title I used Scrap FX... apart from my love of D-lish, I do love my Scrap FX titles and stencils...

I have had a blast sharing my first D-lish creation with you all...

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me here today...

Today I'd like to share with you a layout I created with some of the latest releases from Scrap FX  "Fangtastic"

 Those of you that know me well, know that I love Halloween.... I believe it is a great opportunity for us adults to let our hair down and play dress ups as you can see...

Once again for this layout I used the new Halloween Transparency and cut out a couple of the word titles from it... 

Another of the new releases was this fantastic black cardstock Witchypoo...  I used white gelatos to give her some highlight details...

Again I used the new Hash Stencil to create texture on my background... I think this stencil makes a great staple for your kit, as it lends itself to any style of layout with it's geometric pattern...

 I used the Spooky Tree,  this is one of my longtime favourites for Halloween... I painted it up with black gesso and some Inka Gold used white gelatos to create highlights...

 To create the effect of dead tree branches hanging over my page I used the Coral Stencil... I loved the finished effect of the gnarly branches hanging over my blood red moon...

New Scrap FX

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me here today...

Today is my turn over on the Scrap FX blog and I'd like to share with you a layout I created with some of the new releases "Forever Friends"

I love this photo taken on retreat... a wonderful moment captured....

This months releases from Scrap FX included lots of background stamps along with releases for Halloween and sports.... 

One of the great Halloween releases was an A4 printed Halloween Transparency, which has an A4 page frame along with spooky words and images....
I cut out the frame, and cut the corners to create two "L" shaped pieces, and used these to frame up my photo....

For my background, I used the new Woodgrain Stamp, and stamp with different green inks..

For my title I used the Forever Friends wordlet and sprayed it green, then I used the new Diagonal Stamp over the top with a dye ink(archival ink) doesn't it look fantastic... Such a great look and so easy to achieve...

I used the new Hash Stencil to create background detail and texture... I used some modelling paste to create texture, and embossing powder and watercolour pencil to create detail...
