Favourite Memories

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me here today...

Just wanting to share my latest work for Scrap FX...
a layout that I created "Favourite Memories"

this is one of my favourite pics of my mum and myself we had such fabulous fun getting these pics taken... a wonderful day, so many laughs...

To create this layout I used the Circular Shawl Stencil with gold embossing paste to create the texture on the base layer...

I used the Words of Wisdom stencil with some modelling paste, because there is no such thing as too much texture... then I gave it some colour using a Prima colour bloom spray...

Finally, I used the new title Favourite Memories, which is so appropriate for this layout... I applied some of the gold embossing paste to it to give it colour and texture...

I really love how this one turned out... I'm getting a frame for it so it can take pride of place on the wall of my studio so I can see it everyday....

Sharing

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me here today...
Today I'd like to share with you a couple of layouts I have designed recently.
First up is "Just Married"

Ahhh... it seems like only yesterday Bill and I were starting out... where did all that time go...

I created my background using the Palm Frond Stencil from Scrap FX and plenty of Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays... It's a gorgeous stencil isn't it...

I used the Just Married title from Scrap FX and spray and inked it up.

I used the same spray and ink treatment on the Chickenwire Heart (in which I cut out the chicken wire centre, I'll save that for another project).  I used a Prima frame, lace doily and tag along with Prima papers... I like using Prima papers for my mixed media layouts, they have a heavier weight and take the products so well, the perfect compliment for my Scrap FX stencils and chipboard....

The next layout; Dream, I designed for one of the lovely ladies who attended the Scrappe Tiger retreat back in May...

I was showing her how she could create loads of  texture quickly and easily using Scrap FX  products....

We used the Palm Frond Stencil to create a textured border for the layout, first with modelling paste, then sprays and inks...

The Dream title was coloured using a couple of colours of Inka Gold...

Some simple techniques to provide maximum impact, she loved the finished design....

Explore

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me here today...
Today I'd like to share with you a layout I created for Scrap FX  "Explore"

I loved this new "Explore the untaken path" title.... as soon as I saw it, it made me think of this photo I took at Bayon temple entrance at Angkor, Cambodia... I loved exploring this temple and got some amazing pics while I was there, including this one of the lonely entrance...

I coloured up the "Explore the untaken path" title with some Lindy's spray before mounting it up on my photo...

I used one set of the new Shoe Soles Stamp, and cut them out to mount them on the layout... this is a fabulous stamp with three different sets of sole prints...

I used the new Alpha Stencil to create my background texture with modelling paste and coloured up with loads of sprays for colour...

One last close up to show the background detail...

Born to Ride

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me here today...

Today is my turn over on the Scrap FX blog and I'd like to share with you a layout I created with some of the new steampunk releases "Born to Ride"

this months releases were amazing.... loads of awesome steampunk  goodness, just perfect for my Harley pics...

this is a pic of my 100th Anniversary Springer Softail... please excuse my cheesy grin, riding my bike always makes me smile....

For this layout I created my background using the cog stamp with embossing powder under some gesso and plenty of Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays... the page edge was created using one of my favourite stencils the random dots stencil ....

I just love, love, love the new steampunk skull collage....
I painted it up with some Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays.... doesn't it look fabulous...

I couldn't go past this title...."Born to Ride" just perfect for my photo...
and I also used the micro cogs.... I painted them all up with more Lindy's stamp Gang...

The new corner chain collage looks great framing up my photo with the film strip (five frames) is tucked in behind the photo...

I used the Grungy Wing Stencil to create a bit of flame like action.... I just love how versatile this stencil is, it really should be on everyones wishlist....

New Scrap FX

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me here today...
Today is my turn over on the Scrap FX blog and I'd like to share with you a layout I created with some of the new releases "Forever Friends"

I love this photo taken on retreat... a wonderful moment captured....
This months releases from Scrap FX included lots of background stamps along with releases for Halloween and sports....

One of the great Halloween releases was an A4 printed Halloween Transparency, which has an A4 page frame along with spooky words and images....
I cut out the frame, and cut the corners to create two "L" shaped pieces, and used these to frame up my photo....

For my background, I used the new Woodgrain Stamp, and stamp with different green inks..

For my title I used the Forever Friends wordlet and sprayed it green, then I used the new Diagonal Stamp over the top with a dye ink(archival ink) doesn't it look fantastic... Such a great look and so easy to achieve...

I used the new Hash Stencil to create background detail and texture... I used some modelling paste to create texture, and embossing powder and watercolour pencil to create detail...

Scrapbookit July Challenge

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me here today.

It is my turn over on the Scrapbookit Blog again today and I'd like to share with you the latest layout I created "Nature's Beauty".

The photo was taken at my recent retreat, such a beautiful serene place.  I used papers from the Echo Park paper range "walking on sunshine", I used Fancy Fish along with strips from, Sailboats, Direction Arrows and Oceanfront Views.
I created this layout to play along with the current challenge, using the mood board and a stencil.  For this layout I chose the blues and oranges from the mood board to work with and I actually used two stencils, the Chevron Stencil for the background, and a little word stencil.

A close up of the background detail; showing the texture created by the Chevron Stencil, the strips of the other papers and also the thin check ribbon (Sullivans) I added (you need to look closely to see it). You can also see the Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays that I used to colour and drip on the background.

A close up of the word stencil that Jo sent in my kit, inked at the edge of the photo.

I removed the yellow and black centre from a Manor House flower and created my own blue centre with some Ribtex beads, I also used some of the cheap paper flowers to created a couple of 3d flowers .

For my title I used the Scrap FX Nature's Beauty.
I used some open circle grommets in shades of blue to further texturize the layout.  These are an older product, but give such a great look and can be so versatile, get yours from Jo while they last.

For a little extra detail I added a Scrap FX flourish Doodad G, which I had cut in half and put on the corner of my photo.

Just to refresh your memory of the details of the challenge I set this month:
1. To create your project using a stencil
(just cause I love them, lol)
 2. To take your inspiration from my mood board
3. Have fun

I hope that I have given you some more ideas on how to use this mood board, and that you will come and join in the fun over on the Scrapbookit Blog and who knows maybe even win yourself a prize.

Walking Wounded

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me here today...
Today I'd like to share with you a layout I created with some of the new Scrap FX releases  "Walking Wounded"

This is my poor furbaby Cleopatra, she recently broke three toes and had to be confined to staying indoors for eight very long weeks while they healed.

I loved the new title Walking Wounded, so appropriate for Cleopatra during her confinement. On the background in the corners I used the Scribble Circle Stamp and I used the one of the Heartbeat Borders along the bottom of the page.

Scrap FX's release this month also included A4 transparency sheets, and here I have used the broken arm from the Medical Transparency and cut off the fingers to make it look more like Cleopatra's paw...
A raised stamped image using the Chevron Spot Stamp was used to cluster with the transparency image.

To create some background texture I used the Circle Weave Stencil, and at the top of the page the other Heartbeat Borders (there are two in the pack)

Here I used another of the images from the Medical Transparency, there is so much on these A4 sheets.

Well, Cleopatra is finally free from the bandages and confinement and her toes have healed and she is very happy to be allowed to play out in the garden once again.

Scenic Drive through Colorado

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me here today...
it's my turn again over on the Scrap FX blog and I have another layout I created to share with you all "Scenic Drive
These images are of a road trip through Colorado, this stop was at Garden of the Gods.

On this layout I again had fun with that fantastic Circle Weave Stencil, this time I used it only in random patches to give my background texture.

I used the Chicken Wire Stamp for some added background detail

the new title, Scenic Drive heads up my layout, coloured with Inka Gold to give it that great sheen (the picture doesn't do it justice)

More Scrap FX

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me here today...
I have another layout I have created for Scrap FX  to share with you "Central Park

As soon as I saw the newly released Central Park wordlet, I knew I had the perfect photo to use with it.... When Bill and I were in New York we took a horse drawn carriage ride in the famous Central Park, such a wonderful memory.

When I saw this months new products I immediately fell in love with the Marrakech Stencil, and have used it to border my layout, and for the fab Central Park title I created leafy texture  on the tree using some modelling paste and chalk inks. I used the great Itty Bitty Bets Serif letters for the rest of my title.

Behind my photo layering I used the new Damask Stencil, this is a fabulous new flourish shape with great detail...

I used the Moroccan Tile Stamp to decorate the extra large Prima tag behind my photo, along with some of the Prima Cartographer ATC cards.

Memories

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me here today...
it's my turn again over on the Scrap FX blog and I have fun layout to share with you all ...

I had loads of fun creating this layout.... lots of messy fun creating the background with plenty of Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays, gesso and gel medium...

I used my favourite Scrap FX chicken wire on this layout and the wonderful Melting Clock.  These chipboard pieces were covered using a couple of different Lindy's Stamp Gang  embossing powders.

I also used the Scrap FX Gates Stamp to create even more texture....

I created loads of texture using the Scrap FX Chevron stencil (one of my old fav's)...

A Scrap FX Doodad chopped into two pieces helped to embellish the page along with some flowers and a Flourish with a Bling Chloe pearl flourish....
