Light it Up

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me here today...
and welcome to my third post for D-lish Scraps ....
Today I'd like to share with you a lamp that I altered....

This was a square table lamp that I was given by a friend.... it was a little boring and screaming for an up grade.... here's some images of how I created the finished lamp...

I began by wiping some Inka Gold over the wooden grid...

I cut the diagonal striped bags to fit into each of the cavities and then I used a stencil and some modelling paste to create a little texture on each of the panels...

Next I added some Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays to each of the panels...

and I added some rub n' buff to highlight the texture...

Then I went about adding all the finishing touches to the lamp...

I created clusters in opposing corners of the lamp, using the Heirloom Flowers in light peach and Mini Heirloom Flowers (light peach) and I sprayed these flowers with the same sprays as I used on the panels.... In the clusters on the front I also added some Metal Filigree Leaves along with a Flair Button from the Ombre words pack....

A couple more shots of some of the clusters on the lamp....

I am so happy with how this lamp turned out it looks great while it's off, but when you turn on the lamp ... oh Wow!! it looks absolutely stunning....

Altered Fun

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me here today...
Today I'd like to share with you a project I created for a bit of fun with some Scrap FX and a load of Lindy's Stamp Gang products....

My Altered Guitar; Timeless Beauty.
This guitar was found in the junk pile of a thrift shop, they didn't even think it was worth selling, how wrong were they.... thanks to a friend of mine, I ended up with it, and I had so much fun altering it...

I started with a gesso base coat to give myself a workable surface.
I used pan pastels to colour and shade her face.

I used the Industrial Chic Starburst spray set to colour the guitar and flowers, this is still my favourite Starburst set, I totally love them....

I used lots of the Scrap FX  Flourish D flourishes around the flower clusters.  I painted up these flourishes using the LSG magicals powders and a wet paint brush, the Industrial Chic set of course. Using the magicals instead of the sprays allows you to get a more concentrated colour and shine.

I created lots of texture in her hair. I coloured it with more Lindy Stamp Gang Sprays, and I gave it sheen and shine with Lindy's two tone embossing powders in bronze, copper and gold toning's.
I used the Scrap FX title Timeless Beauty again painted up with magicals and the Flourish F flourish also painted up with magicals in her hair.

to finish off the neck of the guitar I used the Scrap FX Flourish V, once again painted up with the Lindy's Stamp Gang magicals.

Altered Fun

Hi everyone, thought you might like to see an altered project that I have been working on... a storage rack for my favourite edge punches

I had started with an old spice rack that had been given to me by a good friend
I added a coat of gesso (I did remove the bars, before getting gesso on them, just not before I started, lol)

I then added pieces of sheet music

next I added some dimension with the Random Dots stencil and then inked it up with distress ink

then I added a splash of colour with Lindys Stamp Gang spray

I painted the bars and reattached them and then sealed the rack, it is important to seal a project like this to protect it, as it will be used regularly

then to finish it off added some decoration with Scrap FX and some flowers

I hope you liked the project
