Natures Pen

Hi Creative Paper Clay ® fans, it's Cindy here, welcome to my very first post as a member of this fabulous Design Team! I am so excited to share with you my "Nature's Pen" and show you how to create your own. I chose to create this pen from the Delight Air Dry Modeling Compound, to ensure that the pen remained very light and because once dry the Delight remains very soft and is spongy even after it has dried thus making it very comfortable to use.... there will be no callous' here when I'm writing my memoirs (lol)...

Supplies:

So for this project you'll need the following:

Delight Air Dry Modeling Compound

Clay shaping tools

Rolling pin

Water for smoothing clay

Acrylic paints (I used Vivid Ultra Metallics on mine)

Gel medium

Rhinestones

Paint brushes

Water for your brushes

Spay varnish

Directions:

So I began with some Delight and made some rough 'snakes' ready to form my wooded base of the pen..

Next up with my regular old Bic pen I removed the ink nib from the barrel and started wrapping the barrel with the "snake" strips...

continue wrapping the pen barrel until it is fully covered...

 it is time to add detail and make it look more like a log... I achieved this by using small ball tools and silicone tools

 

I added smaller details using a scalpel blade.. 

Time for making the leaves, roll out some more Delight.... cut out some tear drop shapes, and shape and then mark and curl them up....

 

I rolled out some more Delight and used a small cap to press out circles.... you need 6 circles to form one flower... I made three flowers in total...

I also rolled out some very thin snakes... to make into the tendrils.... 

Now it's time to paint.... hmmm

no rude comments about what it looks like at this stage.... lol...

Paint up all the pieces...

Time to assemble Nature's Pen...

I used Gel medium to adhere the painted flowers, tendrils and the rhinestones in the flower centres...

To finish off my pen, I gave it a spray over with varnish, and re-inserted the ink nib

Treasured Memories & Wild About You...... for Scrap FX

Hi all, today I'd like to share with you a couple of pieces I created for Scrap FX: Treasured Memories and Wild About You...

first up I have Treasured Memories...

I love this gorgeous pic of my niece.... she had invited me to come with her to the strawberry farm, so we could pick some fresh strawberries.... she was so excited to tell me how she could eat the strawberries as we were picking them.... lol...

The new 'Treasured Memories' title was perfect for this pic...  I painted it up with Vivid Ultra Metallic paint, the coverage is sensational on the quality Scrap FX chipboard...

the new Waratah Stencil, is so fabulous done up with Radiant Gels to resemble strawberries... well stubby strawberries sort of, lol....

I decided to add a #lovethis from the #moments pack.... again painted up with Vivid Ultra Metallics...

Next up I have another layout to share with you..... Wild about You....

this is yet another pic from one of the many many times I visited the tiger cubs when I was in Thailand.... this is probably one of my favourite pics from that trip... 

The title Wild about You was just perfect for this pic.... I was/am totally 'wild' about these adorable tigers.... I am totally fascinated by them....

For my background I used the new Seed Pod Stencil, with the oxide distress inks and some Vivid Ultra Metallics for the seeds...

I added the new Floral Corner to my pic along with the year from the 2015 Year pack... these are painted up again with Vivid Ultra Metallics paint...

for a final touch... I used the #special moments from the #moments pack...

Togetherness..... Heartfelt Happiness.... for Scrap FX.....

Hi all, today I'd like to share with you a couple of pieces I created for Scrap FX, Heartfelt Happiness and Togetherness...

First up Heartfelt Happiness...

The new Heartfelt Happiness title suited this photo so much, a pic of Bill and I having some fun with a photo prop at a friends 40th party.... 

I painted the title up with Twinkling H2O's to give it a shine... Twinks are the perfect match for Scrap FX chipboard... they give such lush and shiny colour on the quality chipboard...

To create background texture I used the gorgeous new Brocade Lace Stencil, isn't it stunning...

I used modelling paste and coloured it up with Twinkling H2O's to give some gorgeous shine and accentuate that fabulous stencil pattern...

I added one of the new Damask Heart's .... isn't it stunning.... it comes in two different sizes... this is the larger one...

I used the Heart Border Stamp with Twinkling H2O's to give a matching colour and rustic look... it's such a cute stamp, don't you think?...

 for my mini cluster I again used the Brocade Lace Stencil as a base... and the Heart Border Stamp... I added one of the Heart Flowers after cutting off it's stem... you can see more of the Heart Flowers with their stems on in the next project....

One last look at the completed layout... 

Next up I have another layout.... Togetherness...  

 For this layout... I decided to get a little artsy... and painted a photo extension.... I am super happy with the result... and chose only to add painted Scrap FX pieces to finish off the layout..

 I used two of the Heart Flowers, they come four in a pack and each one is different.... really cute little pieces to finish off your work... I painted them up with Vivid Ultra Metallics...

 For the title I chose Togetherness.... such a great word to describe this photo... and I am totally loving the flourishes on it as well....lurve it!!!

 I also added the #me&you from the #love pack...

 a close up of the photo extension... it was a blast creating this layout and I love the simplicity of Scrap FX pieces to finish it off...

I want to grow old with you......

Hi everyone today I am sharing a layout I created with the new Scrap FX products, "I want to grow old with you"....

Scrap FX have done a bit of a love theme with this latest release...

I really loved these new release products, and matching them up with a black and white pic of Bill and I let me add my fave colours to the chipboard pieces...

 I used the Celebration of Hearts chipboard to enhance the layout.... don't you just love it... a fabulous pretty piece...

 I added some of the amazing Radiant Gels through the newBrocade Lace Stencil.... doesn't it look amazing,,,, such shine and colour....

 Another pack from this release is the #love pack there are some awesome words in this pack.... I chose to use the #ourstory on this layout...

My title for the layout..... I love this saying....  "I want to grow old with you" ....

For the final touches I added a couple of the arrows out of the Wifey& Hubby set, I loved this pack too....
