Scrap FX Let's Hear it for the Boys...

Over on the Scrap FX blog the DT has got together for a great group post on all things male.... The excert below was extracted from the post, written up by the fabulous Scarlett...
So here is my project for the group post... written up by Scarlett...

Cindy has created a ‘fun-lovin’ boy page featuring what appears to be a school photo, which I don’t about you, but I often have a tough time knowing what to do with these. If this is indeed a school photo I find it spectacular how she has gone with a non-traditional approach to scrapping it. This is another jaw dropping background and I have a few insider deets on how it was created wanna know the scoop?? Okay, let’s take a closer look and I’ll share.

Cindy started off her background by stamping the Star Spangles Stamp (2014214). She clear embossed the stamp before she applied the Continuous Chain Stencil with paste. Doesn't it look totally spectacular? I don’t have this one in my stash yet, but after seeing how Cindy has used it here I may have to rethink how I may use it on future projects. It provides such a rich texture and looks so realistic! I also think it probably helps that Cindy is really quite terrific at applying background techniques.

Here you can see the chains up close and also see the start of her misting. This was done after the chains had dried and allowed to run down creating the lovely drips you see in the above photos. The great thing about having embossed the Star Spangles Stamp is the mist resisted it so the stars continued to shine on through while the mist oozed on around them.

Scrapbookit

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me here today.

It is my turn over on the Scrapbookit Blog again today and I have one last project to share with you this month... "Love this child"

I again used paper Jo sent in my kit from the Pebbles 12x12" paper pad...

The papers are very bright and patterned, and my photo got a little lost when I laid it on the paper.... So I white washed the paper with gesso to tone it down a little... and then sprayed it up to match my niece's coat...

I used Scrap FX chipboard for my journalling title Love scribble heart (I used the love word only) and Wild Child(in which I cut off the wild)...and coloured these up with water colour pencils...

I used the Scrap FX Daisy Flowers stencil to create the daisies on the layout to coordinate with my photo... and used buttons to create their centres...

finally, I also used the Scrap FX Chevron Spot Stamps to finish off my layout.

So my layout very loosely follows the current challenge (at a stretch, lol)... the current challenge is a Tic Tac Toe challenge... all you need to do is choose a row and incorporate those elements in your project...

so my layout very loosely follows the first column.... Teal-Journalling-Flowers...
My paper has teal print on it, I used a journalling title and stenciled my flowers...

It's your last chance to get your entry in to be in the running for a massive prize pack from Jo, so don't dilly dally, I'm looking forward to seeing your creations....

Scrapbookit Again...

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me here today.

I've put up another post on the Scrapbookit Blog today and I'd like to share with you the latest layout I have created for the current challenge that Jo has set for August and what a great challenge it is...

It is a game of Tic-Tac-Toe.
Here is the game board...

All you need to do is choose one line combination from the board - horizontal, vertical or diagonal and use those elements on your layout.

It's that easy!

I have chosen the Flowers - Ink/Paint - Black/White line.

Here is what I have come up with...
Using another of the papers from the Pebbles Birthday Wishes pad.... I added texture with the Scrap FX Moroccan Tile Stencil...

A close up of the misting of inks and my flower cluster...

Another pic of the misted inks, and the gold stardream paper I used under the photo...

I used thickers Rainboots stickers for my title...

I hope you'll join us for the challenge and maybe win yourself a great prize pack...

Scrapbookit August Challenge

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me here today.

It is my turn over on the Scrapbookit Blog today and I'd like to share with you the latest challenge that Jo has set for August and what a great challenge it is...

So for my line of the challenge I used tiny flowers, Black/White tiny alphas that Jo had sent me in a previous kit, and Ink/Paint to colour my tree trunk.  This month we are all creating with the papers from the Pebbles Birthday Wishes Pack...

A close up of the tree trunk I created on my page, using modelling paste and a Sculpey texture maker that Jo included in my kit.... how awesome is this texture  it created and so easy, I just pressed it into the modelling paste as it was drying....
I then coloured it with ink/paint...

For my title I used Rainboots thickers and tiny letters from Kaisercraft....

I diecut some foliage from green cardstock and added a little gauze threads to my flower cluster....

I hope you'll join in the fun and play along the challenge. Entries need to be in by 30th August to be in the running for a massive prize pack from Jo, so hit your stash or purchase something new from Jo to play with....

Fill my Heart

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me here today...
Today I'd like to share with you a layout I created with some of the latest releases from Scrap FX  "Fill my Heart"
This is one of favourite pics of Bill, and as corny as it may be, he does fill my heart....  I used the new Jigsaw Heart Large for this layout, isn't it a great piece, it's approx 20cm, it also comes in a smaller size that is only 9.5cm...

the background was created with the Crosswords Stencil and modelling paste... and I used a stabillo all pencil to create shading and make the background pop....

Scrap FX make so many fun alphabets, here I used; Graffiti Alphabet, Chisel large lower case, Itty Bitty Bets Groovy and Bag of letters mini....  I love mixing up lettering for my longer titles...

I used the Heart Spangles Stamp and embossed onto the Jigsaw Heart Large.

To finish off my layout I used the Heart Monitor from last months releases, it just finished off this layout perfectly.....

New Scrap FX

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me here today...
Today is my turn over on the Scrap FX blog and I'd like to share with you a layout I created with some of the new releases  "Love & Laughter"
I had lots of fun playing with the new releases, lots of fun mini titles, amazing heart embellishments, puzzle pieces and cute stick figures, you can check out the new releases here.

Here on this tag I used the 'Holiday Fun' from the Fun Theme Pack and a small heart from the Lots of Love pack. I also used the Heart Spangles Stamp on the background of the tag.

I embossed the Heart Spangles Stamp  on the background of my page before spraying and stamping with the Chicken Wire Stamp.

The new title Love & Laughter mini was just perfect for my photo.... I love these mini titles.

Finally, I  used the Hexagon Pattern Stencil to border my layout.

Here's my take on this months challenge a layout featuring the handsome Henri....
