some fun with ColourArte

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me.... today I like to share a couple of projects I created using some fabulous ColourArte products...

First up I have a layout to share: Phuket

Products used:

Here's the process:
cover white cardstock with clear gesso and then apply modelling paste through a stencil and dry

select your colours of twinkling H2O's and activate them with water then apply in the general area of your stencilling.

paint your title with the activated H2O's

add some random stamping around your H2O colours

diecut some feathers from white cardstock and paint up with the same twinkling H2O's.

add some random line sketching with a fine marker, for added interest and to help make the the vivid colours pop right off your page.

/'
next start to build up your photo layers, I used some white corrugated card, mini doily, green dotted paper, gauze and some bubble diecuts, along with our coloured feathers...

add some random mini beads for a finishing touch...

Next up I have a canvas to share...

Now onto the process:
I began by applying paper scraps onto the canvas using gel medium.

next I started painting on my Silks acrylic glazes in the warm colours...

and then I added the cool colours....

next I randomly stencilled on some gesso...
I almost stopped the project here as I really liked the abstract feel of the canvas...

but I decided to keep going.... I designed out my image using gesso...  don't be put off if you feel that you can't draw as you can use graphite paper to transfer a photo copied image... and then paint it out...

finally I added in some black and white detail to finish him off...

thanks for stopping by,

Family

Hi everyone, today I'd like to share with you my latest creation using the new Magnolia Lane collection from Couture Creations.... "family"

I love this pic of my boys.... they are brothers from the same litter, and have not long had their first birthday.... they are inseparable...

Now a quick step by step on how I but this layout together...

I began by creating a stencil by die cutting a magazine cover using the Damask Frame die...

next up I used the stencil with some modelling paste randomly across the page...

then got to splashing some watercolour around using some Twinkling H2O's...

next I used a couple of the stamps from the Songbird stamp set with some archival ink to create some random patterning....
I love how I can use the birdcage stamp to just create random lines...

next I used the Typography embossing folder to emboss a scrap of the Magnolias and Lace paper, and then coloured the embossed surface with distress ink using a sponge dauber...

I cut the embossed piece into a rectangle and some smaller squares and inked the edges up...
then I put it all together with some hessian and gauze and even some teabag paper...

lastly I added some wording and a title...

one last pic of the completed layout...

#epic

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me...
Today I am sharing my latest work for Scrap FX...
"#epic"

Some more pics from the #epic time I had at Tiger Kingdom in Phuket...
The new hashtag word sets are so much fun.... and were just perfect to describe this experience...

#epic what else could better describe this experience... I painted it up with some Twinkling H2O's to create an ombre effect to mimic the ombre Hero Arts ink pad I had used to stamp my background with ....I cut the "Which Way Out" chippie into three pieces and again created the ombre effect with the H2O's ....

another piece of the " Which Way Out".... and another awesome hashtag... #OMG

the final hashtag I chose for this layout... #happyplace... coloured with the H2O's as I did the other pieces... I love these hashtags there is so many that can go with anything you are working on... there are two different packs and you get 7 different hashtags in each pack!!!!

I used the final piece of the "Which Way Out" to create another small cluster in the bottom corner...

One last look at the completed layout:

What a Blast

Hi everyone, today I'd like to share with you my latest creation using the new Magnolia Lane collection from Couture Creations.... "what a blast"

love this pic of Ros and I...

Here's a quick step by step on how I put this layout together...
I began by die cutting a couple of pieces using the new Timeless die... and creating a stencil by die cutting a magazine cover using the Damask Frame die...

I then used the stencil with some modelling paste onto my page...

create some extra texture by drying the modelling paste with a heat gun...

cut a couple of different papers into strips and ink the edges of all pieces, including the die cuts...

Next I added some extra colour to the background using some Lindy's Stamp Gang spray..

and then I began to assemble the layout...

I added some stamping to the background using the leaf stamp from the songbird stamp set...
 added some gauze...
and layered up pieces and die cuts below my photo...

to finish off I cut out the saying from the Poetical Labels paper...
 and applied some scattered microbeads...
