Favourite Place

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me here today.
It's my turn today over on the Scrapbookit blog today and I'd like to share with you a layout I have created with one of my favourite photo's....

For this layout I used the Kaisercraft papers Itinerary, Sail and Check In from the Now Boarding range.

Here I have cut out the Passenger card from the "Sail" paper to form my journal box

I used a fantastic Scrap FX  large flourish coloured with Perfect Pearls mist and black gesso, I also used the Scrap FX chicken wire stamp for extra effect in the background

I used gel medium with the Scrap FX map stencil and treated the Scrap FX Favourite Places (I removed the 's') title in the same way as the Large flourish

I  used the Perfect Pearl mist to recolour some Manor House flowers.  I removed a couple of layers from a couple to create different size flowers.

Well that's it from me today, except for a reminder about the Scrapbookit retreat that is coming up in March, and I'm excited to say I will have the honour of teaching there...  If you would like to get all the details, call Jo on 0407058604.  It's going to be a great weekend, I hope to see you there.

till next time

Good Times

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me here today.
It's my turn today over at Scrapbookit to share my take on the February challenge.
Leah created a sketch for us to work with for this months challenge.

Here is the sketch...

and here is my take ....
I have used the Kaisercraft "Now Boarding" collection for this layout, "Terminal and Cabin Crew"

I created the background using the Scrap FX small Sweetheart stencil, and the Darkroom Door "French Script" background stamp, this is a fabulous stamp that should be in everyone's stash, so versatile for all projects. I used Scrap FX title "Remembering the good times with impasto, black acrylic paint and copper Perfect Pearl Mist for plenty of shine.

I also used the Scrap FX Steampunk Heart and the New Zealand theme pack, and treated them in the same manner as the title.

I used the collection pack from the All Aboard range to embellish the page further.

I hope that you enjoyed my take on the challenge sketch, and I look forward to seeing your entries over the Scrapbookit blog.

till next time,
happy creating

The Water's Edge

Hi everyone, I'm up on the Scrap FX blog again to share a layout I created using one of the new Summer themed Scrap FX titles.  Those of you who know me well, know that I do not like the sun (or at least my skin doesn't..lol..) so I don't have any of the traditional summer beach pics 'cause I'm always hiding indoors in summer... But I was going through my photo stash and came across this pic of Bill from before we were married.  We were away camping along the Murray River when I snapped this shot...

I created the background using Lindy's stamp gang sprays and tissue paper with plenty of distress inks.

The new Scrap FX title "The Water's Edge" was perfect for the pic.

The Scrap FX Twisted Reeds reminded me of the plants on the edge of river.

We have been having terrible fires here and where I live has been draped in thick smoke, this made it difficult to capture all of the detail on this layout, without any sunlight, it was hard to capture the shine of the medium......but I used the Random Dots Stencil with some gel medium to create the look of watery bubbles... gives the layout a glistening, just like the river had in the sunshine...

Colour Challenge at Party Time Tuesdays

Just wanting to share a project I created for the latest colour challenge over at Your Daily Dose from Party Time Tuesdays challenge blog....

I love to make altered bottles..... and these colours lent themselves to creating yet another one....
I started with an unusual triangle shaped bottle...

I used plenty of Maya Gold paints in colours to match the challenge... Maya Gold goes onto any surface and gives an amazing shine (the photo's don't show the shine)...
To embellish the bottle I used a Scrap FX Keyhole from the Keyholes pack and the Steampunk Key, along with some Prima flowers and a vintage image I found.

and now for some close ups....

Hope you will come and join in the challenge over at Party Time Tuesdays...

till next time
